Singapore street festival is an annual event that strive to cultivate, nurture and produce positive attitude in street culture program. One of the program consist of the football freestyle competition and also the 1 vs 1 Panna competition which I took part in.

The competition was held over the weekends, I was at the event on Saturday too give some support to my fellow crew mate that is taking part in the football freestyle category and to watch some of the younger freestylers battle it out. It was a fun day and my crew mate victor managed to clinch vice champion in the competition!

The next day was the panna competition which I am taking part in along side with 2 other of my crew mates. There was quite a lot of issues regarding the competition which I did not like...but I'm not going to dwell on it. I will just work hard and organize more ideal panna competition for the Singapore community. I believe we need a proper structure and ideal competition so that our players will be able to experience what a proper panna competition is like and becoming better to compete with players overseas.

Nonetheless, I always felt happy to be at events where all the panna players gather and compete together. The competition level in Singapore has been improving and this time was no different. Some of the matches I played were quite challenging but fortunately I was able to proceed to the knock out round and then to the finals. I was hoping that the semi finals and finals will be made up of all the members from Expy crew that took part but unfortunately it did not go the way i hoped.

In the finals, I played with Joshua which is a very good player. We often train together and he has improve a lot since he first started. As soon as the match started, I made 2 mistakes which put me in a bad position of being goals down. I had to play a bit more aggressive to get the ball but I made sure I do not use any hands to push or pull. In the end, after a closely fought match, I was able to win the game narrowly. It was a good competitive game and I hope to play with many young talent in future competition. Winning this competition made it my 5th Panna tittle in Asia and I am very happy to be able to accomplish this achievement!
