The day is finally here! Really honored to be invited to Copenhagen, Denmark to take part in the biggest and most prestigious panna competition in the world. Really excited and looking forward to meeting many of the famous players whom I have look up to since starting the sport.
The Flight to Denmark was really long! We needed to transit to Germany before taking another flight to Denmark. The transit experience was not very pleasant, the custom official was very rude and bias during the check and it gave me a very negative impression about the airport. Upon arrival at Denmark, the weather was pretty cold just like Korea but luckily I brought suitable clothing. We met up with Liicht who is from PannaHouse, the host and organiser of the competition along with some guys from belgium. We spent the day hanging out in the city area and playing some panna on the street.
Playing with the guys in Denmark is an eye opener. The way they play is very different and the kids here are all very good and skillful even though they are very young. I learned a lot from playing with the guys and from watching them play.
During the competition, the intensity was much higher compared to other competitions that I have taken part before. the opponents were all very good and they played much more aggressive. I managed to get a panna during the qualifying round but unfortunately I was unable to win my other 2 matches. The scoreline for both match was pretty close and I think if it was not for some careless mistakes I could have won the game.
Nonetheless The trip was a great experience and taught me many valuable knowledge. I will work harder and improve myself more and hope to do better in the future!
